Mama’s Salpores de Arroz Recipe

Growing up, my mom owned and operated a Mexican bakery. My mother studied pastry making with an apprenticeship in El Salvador. She continued learning with another apprenticeship in Los Angeles. This salpores de arroz recipe is hers! She developed it herself. I am so proud to share it with you today. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Allergy Safe

This recipe is quite special. For example, since this cookie recipe contains rice flour, it is totally gluten-free! This recipe is also nut-free. Therefore, you can safely take this recipe to your children’s school for events. This is because the recipe is allergy safe.

Vitamin Fortified

Further, I made this recipe with Leche Nido. Leche Nido is evaporated milk, fortified with vitamins. Thus, these cookies are quite nutritious!

Low in Sugar

Finally, this recipe makes a dozen cookies. But, the whole recipe only contains half a cup of sugar. Therefore, each cookie is quite low in sugar. Don’t worry. It is still very tasty!
