For today, on this particular blog post, however, we will focus on how to make heart shaped tacos de asada. So, let’s get to it!

How to Prepare Romantic Tacos de Asada

To start, you will need a cute little heart-shaped plate to serve this meal. This plate adds the wow factor. So, it’s safe to say, it is an important aspect of the presentation of the meal. You can find a heart-shaped plate at Macy’s, on Amazon, or even a craft store. The best time of year to find this would be around Valentine’s Day, of course. But, thankfully, these types of dishes are avaialble year-round, thanks to the handy dnady internet!

Now, if you want to take it a step even further, you can also cut the tortillas into a heart shape. You can accomplish this by using a heart shaped cookie cutter.

Once you warm up the tortillas, they should look like this.

Now, while this is a super cute detail, it is not completely necessary. The heart-shaped plate is certainly enough of a wow factor. It is up to you how far you want to go with the romance of this meal!

Further, you can also pair this meal with strawberry horchata! These two combined make the perfect romantic meal! Moreover, you can also enjoy these tacos with a michelada. Or, you can even enjoy them with a paloma. Tacos are great because they honestly pair well with so many different types of drinks. Heart Shaped Tacos Step by Step

Prepare the beef

You want to start by marinating your carne asada, or skirt steak. For best results, marinate for 1-4 hours. You can learn how to marinate carne asada here. I personally like to marinate my asada beef with onion, garlic, cilantro, Chef Merito or Mrs. Dash, and beer.

Get your toppings ready

As you wait for the meat to marinate, you can start working on your toppings. Popular taco toppings are pickled onions, queso fresco, and of course salsa. Other popular toppings are diced onion and cilantro. Sour cream and lettuce can also be used.

Cook your beef

Once the meat has marinated, you can cook it on a comal or pan inside. Or, you can certainly grill it outside! Once the meat has cooked, set it to the side to cool down a bit. Once it is cool enough to handle, carefully chop it up.

Warm your tortillas

As you wait for the meat to cool, warm up your tortillas! As you cook each tortilla, place them into a tortilla warmer. Again, you can cut them into a heart shape with a cookie cutter before heating them up. Additionally, you can make your tortillas by hand. You can learn to make homemade tortillas here, and here.

Assemble the tacos!

After all that, you are ready to assemble your tacos! Firstly, add the meat to the warmed tortilla. Then, drizzle with salsa. Next, top with onions. After that, sprinkle queso fresco on top. Finally, arrange it all in your heart-shaped dish. You are ready to enjoy!

Make it your own

Honestly, you can get creative with this. Make chicken tacos. Fish tacos. Or even vegan tacos! The possibilities are endless. Whatever you decide to put in and on the taco, and however you enjoy them, the point is to enjoy them with that someone special!

Enjoy your heart shaped tacos

I hope you enjoy this romantic meal with your loved one. In my culture, we show love through food. These heart shaped tacos are a fun way to show someone you care. It doesn’t cost much, but it certainly makes an impactful statement!
