Heart Shaped Salvadoran Quesadillas

Jump to Recipe

Happy Valentine’s Day! Love is in the air. So, in the spirit of the season, I have been making several heart-shaped snacks and desserts. My favorite, however, has to be this recipe for heart-shaped Salvadoran Quesadillas. I make the quesadilla batter from scratch and pour it into heart-shaped cupcake molds. The result is a cute dessert that the whole family will enjoy!

What is Salvadoran Quesadilla?

Salvadoran Quesadilla is a classic pan dulce or sweet bread in Salvadoran culture. This pan dulce is like a mix between pound cake and cheesecake. Since it is sweet, it pairs amazingly with coffee.

Where to find the materials

To make these treats extra festive, I pour the batter for the quesadilla into silicone heart-shaped molds. Personally, I prefer silicone, because I do not have to use (or waste) cupcake liners. All you need is some nonstick spray. You can find the heart-shaped cupcake molds necessary for this recipe on my Amazon shop.

Additionally, I top the mini desserts with red sugar. That extra step just makes this dessert look so vibrant and fun. Further, I think the extra touch of red sugar makes the dessert more appealing to kiddos too!
